Hi again Dan,
i've found from listening to most of the guys talk about their projects that research is one of the most important things. if you've decided that your planning on investing in the car then there's quite a bit of work to be done... all aspects of the car will eventually need to be addressed so by having foresight in what you'd like the end result to be then the build process will cost you less than if things change this way and that way and have it cost money each time it changes.
get that final picture of what you'd like the car to be, from the front bumper all the way to the back bumper... the whole car. now whether it's broken down in groups or sections try and get whatever repair, rebuild, restoration procedure... whatever it is you're working on... get it to the level you're going to want it to be when you've approached that final "unveiling" stage.
good luck to you with your project, post some pictures and keep us up to date with progress
