You have to remove the front fenders 1st.

 

If you're just removing the door, take the hinge pins out. If you actually need to remove the welded-on hinges, fire up the torch.

 

in addition to what Danno said, if the hinges are worn they make a replacement pin set up that comes with bushings to repair the hinges... just in case those are needed

Not sure a torch is the best answer. If you take the time to drill them off, you'll have a better base for attaching new hinges to.

But as Johnny said, if all you need are new pins, get and replace those instead.

 

Thanks for all the advice. The last I talked to my brother he said he wants to replace the hinges and the pins too. I just replace the pins on my driverside on my 71 Chevelle and my hinges are bolted on. I had problems getting the pins out, so I removed the hinges and forgot to mark where the hinges go and had to pull the fender to line my door back up. And so for the other door I'm just going to cut the pins in half to get them out. Thanks
