I am in the process of installing a l680 transmission from a Camaro into my 1963 Chevy ii. I have been reading about removing the original bolt in yoke and machining a TH400 bolt in yoke to fit in it's place and use a truck drive shaft with a slip yoke after having it cut to length. Does anyone have experience doing this?

Need to read before I hit send! No its a 6l80. I just ordered a SONNAX T35-GMFD-01K 3-bolt Adapter flange and plan to install a Telescoping rear drive shaft to make everything fit. I talked to someone local this week and he said I would come out around $500 going this route. After machine shop cost to cut the yoke and custom build a drive shaft it would be around $700. Not sure if I made the right choice but I'm committed now. I added a picture of the car. Installing a 6.0 LS along with the 6l80 trans, new front end with rack and pinion.
