Desert Valley has destroyed the Nova cop car that was in the May 06 issue of Car Craft. I have been watching there web site and last night there were new pictures of the car with the rear floor pan cut out and the rearend missing. I called first thing this morning to ask about the 120 speedo and then had to call back this afternoon to get an answer and it is also gone. When the car first came out in the magazine I called and asked about parts and they said " Were selling it as a whole car". Three months later they have destroyed one one the rarest Novas. Idiots!!!!!!!!!!! Here is a link.

My problem is that if it is going to be sold as a whole car, dont destroy it 3 months later.
I fully agree with that. maybe no one would pay as much for the whole car as opposed to what they could get for the parts. Did you make them an offer?
Don't take this the wrong way, I am not baggin on ya, but some folks just don't care about rare unless it will put money in their pocket. Try contacting Car Craft and let them know what happened to the car. If they took the time to write an article about it I doubt they expected this to happen.

I have a 4 door I just bought cheap. I am going to drive it until something major goes wrong and then it will be parted out with some parts going into my 75. I know it is not a rare car but I can get triple the cost I paid by selling just a few parts off it and all the ones I use cost me nothing. I also have another Hatchback that is being parted out. Some might say they are somewhat rare as well, but no one wanted to buy it as a whole car.

I have seen over 2 dozen 4th generation Novas in this area and only 2 have had the sport mirrors and I own one of them.

Just because the car is rare doesn't mean it's worth anything and I have never saw the facination of the cops cars. I know they are rare and have neat parts on them; but other than that???? Take the good parts and use them to fix another car. Most of the cops cars I saw were used as untilitarian tools until they were beat up and used up and were sent to wholesale lot. In my hometown they were often used as taxi cabs until they were dead.

Im not the moderator here...but i think you guys are in a bit of a missunderstanding, I dont believe anything personal was meant by the "busted" comment, seems more like a joke about it having been a cop car to me, would be like having a hearse as a transport for old people..... dual purpose.... why can't we all just get along...... ha ha

If it doesn't have them when it gets here it will when it leaves. I have a NOS set in my attic. If you help me install them It just might save your life!
