can you add a headrest to a non-headrest bucket???

I have '67 Nova buckets in my '69 and I love them...they are super comfy and just look nice IMO. However I would like to, if possible, add headrests to them as a safety measure...if you have ever known anyone with serious whiplash you will know why I want to add them. Anyway I have seen complete headrest assemblies in a few of the repop cat.'s and was wondering if it is possible to retro fit a set to my buckets...BTW the buckets need to be recovered so that part is not an issue. Thanks in advance.:)

I would probably hunt down the 69 version if it was my ride > I dont think the 67s have the understructure for the headrest mounts in them (headrests were not an option till 68).
The 67 seats untouched are a rare commodity. They should fetch you enough scratch to buy a pair of 69-70 GM buckets for your 69 either decent used, or used and with some bucks left toward the foam and covers. I dont think I'd be hacking vintage parts at this point. Plus the added cost of the repop kit.

imho. Jim

Well I took a closer look at the Paddock cat. and they do indeed have a head rest kit for the 66-67 Nova buckets...and the parts to add it the seats that didnt have the head rest originally...sooo It looks like that might just be the answer...its a little spendy but I guess safety costs and I would rather have some extra protection against whiplash

thanks for the replies:)
