Hello , i am new to this site not novas. I owned my nova back in high school. only with a 250 six power glide. i built a 383 not long ago with nothing to put it in. then i heard my old nova was wasting away in a barn. next thing you no its now in my garage. i want a street drivin nova that i can take to the track on the weekend. gas milege is not a concern. mybiggest question is should i build the powerglide [3000 stall shift kit and maby a brake] or invest in a 3 speed. Iheard the power glide is the king of the 1/4 mile please help the new guy.

Hey man that is way cool you got your old Nova back...awesome....Nice to see another Ontario boy on the site too....I'm originally from Ontario but I'm currently in GA.....Welcome to the site...I'm sure you will get lots of help with your question....PG can be beefed up to handle tons of power BUT from my understanding it will take a fair bit of cash to do so...I would suspect that the first thing to go will be its case as I have heard they are one of the weak points for a PG...personally, though I'm not building an all out drag car, I would build up a TH350 or a TH400...i suspect you could build up one of them to handle all the power you have and then some for less money than a PG...JMO however....again welcome to the site..ya Canknucklehead...lol

Howdy. I'm not up on trannys that much, but have a t350 in mine. If your gonna drive it on the street, (highway) ya might think about one that has the overdrive. I am concedering going with an overdrive to compensate for the price of gas.

thanks for the input guys. i dont really wanna replace the case on my glide. but i now where i can get a rebuilt 350th cheap minus shift kit and high stall. well gotta go work on my car. ill try to get pics soon.
