hi all,
i have a 69 and i changed the dfash cluster(non tach) to a 72 w/factory tach cluster,,i just wanted to know anyone has done this change over before,and how to hook up the tach w/o the factory tach wiring harness installed,,i really dont want to go thru all that if posible,,,also i added a fac console w/gauges and will need some help hooking up the console gas gauge if anyoine has a ny clues at all i will sure be happy for any help,,

Your going to need to get a wiring diagram that shows the origional and how it should be. A 69 Chevrolet Shop Service manual should have it or you should be able to buy a color cordinated one off E-bay.

The tach is typically one wire to the dist. For all your gauge wiring I would get the AIM or Chassis Service Manual for the year in question and use the wiring diagrams to identify the wires you'll need to run. Follow your existing harness and when all done you can get the black wire wraping tape and just rewrap over the existing harness. You may need special connectors for the factory sawtooth console gauges, you might find an old harness at the salvage yard and be able to cut off the console section and splice them onto your wiring.
