Who offers a good or high volume oil pump for the ChevyII front sump oil pans?

Did the 66 L-79 327 in the ChevyII have a high volume pump,or was it the same as the 283 motors? If so,who offers it?

We have a fairly built up 355 for our 64 sedan, and I'd like a good oil pump for it. The car is my fathers,he bought it new,and added a 67 ChevyII power steering setup,so a deep rear sump pan is out of the question.
The original 1964 oil pump only carries about 30lbs running down the road at 3000 rpm,and doesn't climb when we buzz the motor. This motor pulls to 7500 with ease. Its a 12.5to1 355,floated wrist pins, pink rods,4 bolt mains, steal crank, balanced, ported 2.02 double hump heads, roller rockers, crane 585 solid lifter cam, with a victor Junior intake & a 750 Holley.

A little background on my dads car. He bought it new in 1964.
He ordered it with a 283 & 4 speed. Its a 2 door sedan. It came black exterior, red interior, bench seat, with white head liner. The original 283 left about 30-35 years ago. Wish he still had it. Still has the original Muncie 4 speed though.

Sorry for the lengthy storey, but all in all,I'm looking for a good oil pump for this motor before we put it back in the car.

Thank you,Mark

I picked up a pump this morning. Its a Melling M-73.A local speed shop happened to have one on the shelf. The guy said he ordered it in about 15 years ago for some reason and it never sold.We were down there getting some engine gaskets & new flywheel bolts and asked if he knew where to get a ChevyII oil pump for a stock GM ChevyII pan...just by luck he had that one there still!
