Cool things is that the Buick V-8's are all the same on the outside, so a 350 can easily be replaced with a 455 motor and none are the wiser. The 455 Buick in the GSX (in basically a Chevelle body) was the only car to give a Hemi Cuda/Challenger a run for it's money back when these cars were all new. In a lighter Nova body it would blow a Hemi Cuda away. My idea of the ideal sleeper.
IMO GM should have given the car a better nose and tail design. The Ventura has the best looking of both.
However if I had the time, the $ and happen to have a stock 73-74 Apollo and the complete turbo V6 out of an 86-87 Grand national, I'd drop the engine into the Apollo, add a quiet exhaust and a few other tweaks....and would build probably the ultimate sleeper....I'd call it "ugly but deadly".
