Hey guys,
Does anyone in Nova Land have any information on the correct number factory ignition coil (with points) that originally came on a 1966 L-79 SS from the factory.
I have seen number matching cars for sale that list the Delco 1115204 (204-12V) as the correct coil and say it's very rare. The factory assembly instruction manual page 258 shows the L -79 coil as part #20 in the diagram which is listed as "Production Part" with no number.
The Chevrolet 1962-1969 dealer Parts and Accessories Catalog page 2-4 ( number 2.170 Coil Ignition ) shows:
64-69 All (exc. T. Ign.) .......................... 1115202 11.00 w/1.8 OHM wire (stamped 202-12)
The publication 1965-69 Chevrolet By The Numbers ( by Alan Colvin ) list's the correct points distributer as part # 1111154, but doesn't list a coil number.
Trying to locate where the 1115204 coil is shown as the correct part for the 1966 Chevy ll L-79.
Thanks
