Default Hankook: Good to buy or not?

Hi! I'm still new to the forum. I've been looking at tires to buy and currently checking Hankook tires for 1963 Nova SS. I've seen a few options as I browsed few sites like 4wheelonline, and eBay. Saw two options: Optimo and Kinergy ST. Not sure but I have read they are both all-season tires.

Anyone here who has tried the tires I've mentioned? Appreciate it if you could give some feedback on these tires.

I've been real happy with the a few sets of Hankooks on our daily drivers.

I see you are in the Philippines so a South Korean tire mat be a better buy than an American one made in Brazil or Mexico. Stateside Hankook tires are mostly sold in discount automotive stores and at Wally World to people looking for a cheap tire.

All weather tires are usually harder and have a stiffer side wall for mileage than a softer tire with a higher traction rating. Another consideration here with interstate highways is the speed rating. Though no one on this board would race on a public highway there is always a temptation to exceed the posted speed limit and a tire with a hard stiff body is unsuitable for high speed use unless inflated rock hard (such as salt lake speedsters and over the road semi trucks.

Hankook offers a large variety of tires to choose from but I have never purchased a set preferring Goodyear or BF Goodrich tires for my hot rods.

I used to have Hankook tires on my vehicles before and I can say that it has a decent performance. I love the fact that it is cheap but but has a good tread life.

I have hankook tires on 2 of my cars. They come as OEM on Hyundai. Good tires but wear fast.

I've had a couple of sets of Hankook's on various daily drivers I've owned over the years.
In fact, I think they've been on the truck I own now for about 8 years (Optima's).
They seem to work fine.
I know with Discount Tire, you can play the pricing game with whomever is cheapest in your area and they'll give you a better deal.
How I got those tires, last time around.

Hankook tires will always be a good choice. Wouldn't even think of choosing another brand.

...I've had good luck with "Dean" tires, as well.

Depends on where you live and what kind of deal you can get on one, but they're generally priced in the same range as the Hankook's.
I used to get the "Dean" tires through Les Schwab, so that might be a place for you to start.

I'm a firm believer in "Buying American" . . . but that is extremely difficult to do where tires are concerned. The closest you can get is Cooper. Hankook however, is known for a reasonably priced quality tire and they do manufacture tires made in the U.S. I could see myself buying Hankooks.
