Welcome to the Team Lou!

Or a blown fusible link; which is an open circuit (the opposite of a short).

I can't remember exactly, but there may be a common ground on the radiator support near the horn relays?.? Dave would be a master at this one if it's there.

On older cars (earlier than 1969) that would be the main power feed to the car going through the horn relay/mechanical points for the voltage regulator (depending upon the alternator type).

There are two fusible links in the wiring: one by the battery that handles all power in the car, so when it opens nothing works, and a second across the top of the firewall that feeds the cabin and the front under hood wire loom.

Fusible links are short small diameter wires located next to sheet metal, and away from other flammable things, that burns open if there is a short in the wiring. You find it by looking for the burnt wrapping and blistered appearance. It will bend easily because it is empty (the wire has vaporized inside).

Fusible link wire is also wrapped in a special high temp insulation that will not melt and catch fire before the wire melts and breaks contact.

Many thanks for all your replies (You guys are the best!!!!), I dis-connected the battery cables (battery is a side poster) and burnished both ends that bolt into battery and solved the problem. Since i'm the original owner
