Hi, I rebuilding a 67 nova. I’m planning to install a 383 stroker from White Performance. Has anyone had experience installing a 383 in a 67 and if so, can the stock hood be used?
Or you could do what I did in a cut a big square hole in the hood and have two Holley four barrels sticking through the hood on top of an Edelbrock BBC tunnel ram.
A SawsAll and an acetylene torch can make anything fit.
When buying an engine stay away from online sources. Crate engines can be purchased through GM dealerships in your area. If wanting a custom build have it done locally in case a warranty issue arises.
Just an example, I am in the process of building a 406, and comparing it to Skip White's ASSEMBLED 406. He must be getting great deals on bulk orders of parts. My parts list ONLY is 3K more than his top listed assembled engine. His stuff is out there though....
I know a guy here that has his 434 pump gas engine, and he was told to not run more than 34* advance, not sure why that is.
First Guess: Factory "seconds" and "blems" from the various cut-rate Chinese suppliers.
