Default Need to know the value of tinted Glass

I'm looking at doing a trade with a local guy. He want the tinted glass out of my 69 Nova Parts car. As part of the trade I will get a set of factory clear glass back and some other things. I'm just wondering what the value of rear, 2 quarter, 2 doors, 2 vent window, and the front windshield out of a factory tinted car are worth and then how much a set of clear is worth. I don't want to get the short end of the deal here and I want to make sure he doesn't either. Just trying to make sure we can both walk away happy and not have either of us regretting it later!

Thanks in advance!

If both sets of glass are in identical condition then there really isn't much value difference. The green tint on the Sof-Ray glass isn't much of a sun or heat block. If you get anything you want in addition to the glass you will be coming out okay. Since your willing to trade the glass must be an item you don't need and he does. If he is offering the other stuff and you need or want it I would say you are both getting a fair deal.

I don't know about Novas, but "A" body tinted glass is worth a LOT more. Heck, twenty years ago I sold a set out of a 66 Conv, this is just the quarters, doors, and vents for about $400-500 I don't remember exactly. I would look into it more before you set it free.

If I remember correctly (its been years since I checked out prices), for F-bodies, its the opposite...the clear is a lil more than the tinted. It wasnt MUCH more, cuz they were real close in price, but the clear was a tad higher.

The only reference I can really find is on E-bay and it is for new glass and only the rear window. Green tinted new goes for 375 while clear rear windows look like they are between 150 and 200.

New glass isn't going to help you at all. Listen, I don't have much of a clue being the repro glass may be real high quality and the classic car marketplace may have accepted it. If this is the case old somewhat scratched glass is worthless. But I don't think this is the case. If someone is building a real nice, special car that they want ORIGINAL they will pay big bucks for the right parts. In my experiance glass is one of those parts. I have not restored a car now in a number of years so maybe that is all changed, I am going with what I experianced.
