Yeah, go to a new car dealer and look at the cars side by side. Look at body lines and door gaps as well as the "size" of the car. You will see body lines that look much more pronounced or gaps that look bigger or smaller that are actually exactly the same.

Color can be everything to a car. A while a go we got in a 65ish Chevy truck to work on. It was pretty rough, a young kids truck whos dad had an ace card up his sleeve knowing my boss so this kid was pretty lucky to get this work done. We got the body into shape and he brought by a fiberglass hood with an 69 Z/28 style scoop. The truck was lowered and it looked pretty cool. Then came the color, holy crap, dark graphite gray metallic . The truck needed to be Compitition Orange or Daytona Yellow or something like that. The body wasn't perfect, it needed something to hide that, it needed something to put some ZING in it. The color of a gravestone was not the best choice.

Now, I can not stress enough, there is NOTHING wrong with the graphite gray, it just didn't belong on THIS truck.

The boss couldn't talk him out of it, the truck was shot the graphite gray. What a shame, you could see every flaw, the truck with so much potential was a big zero.

Ever see a big fat gal with a white outfit on? She knows what to wear.

First I want to say thanks to MARTINSR I learned a lot. I am planing to paint my car this next winter and I never would have thought about half that stuff. Now when I go to shows I'll have to see what colors wouldn't look good on my car, and I will have to plan it out much more thoroughly

Good call!

I'd go with whatever color you like, unless you have an ultimate goal with the car (resale or resto).
