Re: Best Shop Manuals?

Schurkey, no worries, you can still order manuals for your new GM product through Helminc.com

Re: Starting When Hot

Plus one on this! Worked perfect for me on my 65 that always gave hot start issues. Never failed after I installed it!

It almost looks non-GM in that picture.

Re: 65 rear differential

Hmm, I agree with you, those numbers don't seem to help.

How about pictures of it, maybe that will help identify it.

Are there any numbers on the limited slip unit?

Re: 1966 nova, NON Super Sport

What kind of material will you use? It has to be semi - flexible I am thinking?

I'll be watching for you to post progress pictures!

Re: 1966 nova, NON Super Sport

Cool, another one!

I wish I could find a place that has them reproduced. I agree, it sure does look to be a factory piece. I wonder why I've never noticed them before. I've played with these cars...

Re: 1966 nova, NON Super Sport

If that is, I'll say what I've said many times, I'm never too old to learn!

I have lots of factory literature including sales brochures, assembly manual, parts book, service manuals. None of them...

Re: 1966 nova, NON Super Sport

Wow, I've never seen such a thing in a Nova or Acadian. It looks very nice but I am still worried it's something someone added.

Have you looked around online at any other Nova sites or at pictures...

Re: 1966 nova, NON Super Sport

Do you have any pictures of one? I've followed these cars for almost 40 years but I've never seen one.

Re: 1966 nova, NON Super Sport

I thought only the full size used that (Biscayne, Bel Air, Impala) with the bench seats?

Re: decoding to see what transmission came in 67

The floor pan and hump are fine as is. However, you will have to modify your crossmember at the front because it will hit the transmission pan. Not too big a modification but it's necessary to make...

Re: 72 SS What do you think

Would a 72 SS not have had a 12 bolt?

Re: head light switch

I did exactly this on my 66 Grand Prix way back when, ran like that for years, never had an issue with it. It's barely 1 amp extra draw.

Re: Trying to identify a '65 Nova SS

I'm suspicious that the inspector did not even know where to look for the hidden VIN. Where did he look?

What are the first 6 digits of the VIN on the tag in the door jamb?

Re: Neutral safety switch for 67 4 speed

The 67 Nova SS never had a neutral safety switch from the factory on a manual transmission car, only automatics did. If it has one, someone has installed something from a different vehicle. Do you...

Re: 62 Nova Bucket Seats

If you buy brackets to put the factory buckets in, post number 13 in this thread shows where the 4 corners of the track fasteners should be located on your floor. I took these specs from my original...

Re: 67 Nova Steering column reassembly instruction

Make sure you get a diagram for a 67 column. It was redesigned vs. the 66 column.

Your best bet is certainly the factory GM service manual.

I know this isn't a lot of help but at least it gives...

Re: Set 041 heads on 283

I disagree with Dave. I have always believed these to be 64cc and most sites say 64CC.

Re: Well poop

My 1965 194 did that with 43,000 miles on it. Oil was full of coolant. I gave it away and put a 427 in. The guy did a head gasket on it and drove that engine forever.

Re: 1970 Nova 307 PG

As Dave said, are you buying or selling?

And without knowing a price, it's hard to say how you did. If you bought it and paid $25,000, it would be easy to say, and if you bought it and paid...

I'm old school. The 327 sounds perfect, it's a bolt in. Everybody has a 5.3 these days!
