Re: Swapping in an OE tilt vs the std OE column...

Yep, I know how it is with limited knowledge as I'm in that group :)

Anyway, just to clarify, when I say ignition switch, I'm meaning the actual switch itself behind the instrument panel and on...

Re: Swapping in an OE tilt vs the std OE column...

Re: 67 Nova SS Speedometer Slot Mystery

Never had one of those apart but on a 74 speedometer cluster I have taken apart behind the rectangular opening (which on mine is the high beam indicator) there is a small paper tube (like a mini...

Re: halo headlights

To really know what you need, post back exactly what model headlights you have and any electrical specifications on them. If you do not have the specifications, hopefully the company that made them...

Re: Starting without key in ignition

When a motor keeps cranking over with the ignition key turned off, I have seen starter solenoids stick and then also seen wires getting hot from the exhaust by the starter and a short gets created...

Re: halogen lights

Sounds like you are getting a voltage drop.

When you turn on the headlights, you are getting power from the electrical system to power them and by going dim, then bright and the radio cutting out,...

Re: head light switch

Sorry that I just cannot get more specific as my wiring diagrams do not call out wire gauge nor do they show what size fuse is in the fuse block. Now if you had a 74 Nova, I have a harness out of my...

I'm curious where you saw this about the wire would get hot and burn up. Can you post a link to this ?. I wonder if what you read was someone not knowing what they were doing or they were...

Re: head light switch

What year car is it ?. On the older model Nova's the front parking lights would go off when the headlights were on but there is a modification that can be done on the old switch by moving a wire from...

Re: Parasitic Draw

I know it would not and I was wondering what Brian said as maybe I had never come across that situation.

I know myself, helping others, that using a standard two wire meter across the vehicles...

Re: Parasitic Draw

Be aware too that what Youngladd stated will only work on circuits that you are able to unplug the fuses.
There are factory circuits that do not have unpluggable fuses on them such as the horn...

Re: Door Jamb Switches 68

Ideally, think about putting in the correct double terminal pin switch in the driver's door jamb (the passenger side can be of the single terminal style). The double terminal pin switch just in the...

Re: Centering rear end

You need to have a 4 wheel alignment. I had a replacement rear axle in my one car years ago and just by eye balling it and then taking it to an alignment shop I found out I was only off 1/8".

On my 74 hatchback it had the welded on hatch hinges but I modified them to where now I can adjust...
