Re: Mom's grocery getter 406

The 68 Nova lists 2 block mounts for the SBC short for the 327, longer for the 350. The SHP block is probably modeled after the 350, and would have shorter mounting points on the block. I just need...

Re: Mom's grocery getter 406

Thank you Art. Dave I agree, my 70 Chevelle is only notched, not back halved, so I could stay away from a cell. Just my preference too.

Re: Mom's grocery getter 406

Today's adventure with Moroso solid mounts, is that it's not lining up. These came with the car, I do not know the application. The other mount has the bolt 1/2 way though, the passenger is not even...

Re: Mom's grocery getter 406

The hyd release bearing that came with the car is a no go, so while my wife was at work I used the glass dining table for measuring parts. Bellhousing depth, candle stick shoulder height, also...

Re: 72 & 73 hoods same?

Ask your friends how many hrs of body work to make the hood presentable. I have CF doors, and trunk lid on my 70 Chevelle, they were much straighter than my fiberglass hood. The bolt on hoods have...

Re: Dead no juice

I can't remember exactly, but there may be a common ground on the radiator support near the horn relays?.? Dave would be a master at this one if it's there.

Re: Mom's grocery getter 406

Finally got the new valve covers today, and shined up one side SS header just to see how it looked. The Browell bell housing is over a month out on back order, but Cale Aronson was able to scrounge...

Re: headers for 454 bbc with afr 265 heads

For street driving it is a big issue with Chevelles. 1 7/8" header should be all you need for 265 ports, I'm not an expert, just repeating what the choir is preaching.

Re: headers for 454 bbc with afr 265 heads

The raised exhaust port may cause a little spark plug changing challenges, and finding the right boot to clear the "generic" headers. This is Hooker 2" with a .300 exhaust port, I added a spacer....

Re: Bad shocks or wrong tire size?

If you add an anti roll bar, not to be confused with an anti sway bar, the ARB will only let the rear end go straight up, and down 0 body roll. Body roll is where I feel most of the scraping comes...
