Re: WIW = 1969 SS350 4spd complete NOVA motor

The engine application stamp (HA) comes back to a 1967-68, 327, 275 (horse), MT. Found another reference that HA is associated with a1969 350 300 horse MT.

Re: ***do not buy blueprint engines***

Electrolysis is a chemical reaction. Mileage has no affect upon it. Time, chemicals in the coolant and any electrical charge affect the rate of corrosion. Coolant goes bad (becomes acidic with age...

Re: anyone use these?

Spring rate depends upon driving style and weight of vehicle. Good thing is spring changes are as easy as swapping a shock. I had a box of springs I bought used at my local roundy-round track for...

Re: anyone use these?

On the last Nova I built I used these:

They were cheaper twenty years ago but are otherwise...

Re: nova 1972 from france

I think that car spent more time in the frigid Northeast than it did in Miami, unles he parked once too often on the beach and let the tide come in.

Re: TH350 engaging problem

I wouldn't even bother with a diagnosis just have it rebuilt. But before you do you need to evaluate what you want it to do. It is a lightweight (all aluminum parts), and smaller than a TH400 if you...

Re: TH350 engaging problem

Welcome to the team!

Probably dried out seals, that shrink as they dry out and become brittle.

Re: Rear wheel well extension

That tire on an eight inch or ten inch rim should fit with nothing more than folding back the lip at the outer fender. Ten inch wheel will be much more stable than an eight inch especially at lower...

Re: Rear wheel well extension

Problem is more with wheel diameter than width. Most racing tires are 28 to 30 inches in diameter and the wheel wells were designed to accommodate a 27 inch tall tire. They hit at the front and back...

If you have the sheet you can post a copy of it and there are members here who can decode it for you.

Re: 72 & 73 hoods same?

There are two different weights of glass offered. Race glass is very thin and prone to cracking if driven on the street. Full weight glass isn't a bolt on (too heavy to easily lift off at a gas...

Re: 66 handbrake

Welcome to the Team!

If you are going to own and maintain the car your best bet is to buy a copy of the assembly manual. It shows how things go together (the reverse of which is the correct way to...

Re: My dream car

Welcome to the Team!

The seats can be rebuilt (new foam and seat covers), though most want bucket seats to replace the bench seat.

Most '73 owners also want 1968-'72 bumpers, but your frame is...

Re: Looking for my old Nova

Welcome to the Team!

If you have the VIN and know where the car is (what state) you can petition the DMV for info as to registry insurance and owner.
If it left the country or is a different...

Re: Starting When Hot

The small (16 gauge) pink wire goes on the inside terminal labeled "S". The pink wire is from your ignition switch. If you have an HEI distributor you are done. If you have points the Purple 14 gauge...

Re: Starting When Hot

If you have tubular headers; that is the issue. The tubes are roasting the starter motor and the solenoid. This is causing the metal to swell.

Re: Help .. 65 Nova tire & wheel size

Don't have to estimate with a tire sizing tool. Get a wire coat hanger and cut off the end with the hook. Take the wire to a tire store you like and ask to see a rire in the size you want to run....

Re: MSD or HEI

Only thing wrong with an HEI box is it isn't a performance ignition. It hasa weaker spark and misfires as RPM increases. It is designed to go 100,000 trouble free miles in a production car not win on...

Re: Wheels/tires

Seller lied. That ten bolt is out of a second generation Camaro/Firebird. Too wide as you have noticed, and spring perches point the springs in (pigeon toed) in the front much more than the Nova...
