Re: 78 blinker issues

You can not have a tractor that weighs too much. You can not have too much horsepower . and you can not have too many grounds.

Problem with these old cars is the factory ground straps are removed...

Re: SBC oil pan recommenditaions

You need a Chevy II oil pump (has the inlet in the middle of the body instead of the bottom of the pump), and a matching Chevy II oil pump pick up to fit the front sump pan as well as the Chevy II...

Re: Shorty headers

If you do not have a Chevy II block you need a clutch ball adapter that bolts to the bell housing to locate the ball down by the oil pan where it belongs on a Chevy II.

Block side adapter for...

Re: Shorty headers

Welcome to the Team Buddy!

Two and a half inch inside diameter rams horn cast iron manifolds flow as well as headers do below 4,600 RPM. They do not suffer exhaust leaks the way tubular headers...

Re: 78 coupe tracking sideways while driving

Bologna slicers (rear spring shackles) are that way to raise the rear end to make it look like a funny car from the seventies (or to raise the back of the car enough to run L60-14 tires without...

Re: 66/67 Nova hinge pin removal.

I thought there was a repair kit were you cur the old pins and bored larger holes to accept brass bushings for new pins that came in the kit.

Easy to do except for the boring of the holes....

Re: 78 coupe tracking sideways while driving

You can get all of the dimensions from the Fisher Body service manual. That is the book that was published for use by the collision shop at the dealership to repair cars involved in wrecks. It is...

Re: New Here, Not New to Novas

Welcome to the Team Bill!

I'm the proud owner of a '77 currently. I've owned over fifty 1969-'71 Nova two doors and one '67 Chevy II 2dr sdn. Consider a Nova to be a stretch limo Camaro.

Re: 78 coupe tracking sideways while driving

Welcome to the Team!

Sounds like the car was involved in a previous collision and it wasn't repaired correctly. What you describe is called crabbing.

Re: Anyone know what model these wheels are?

Model depends upon back spacing wheel diameter wheel width and bolt circle. Can't tell from photo you have to measure the dimensions to figure it out.

Re: Anyone know what model these wheels are?

Agree. Differs from the torque thrust II in that the spokes are straight. Torque thrust II has spokes that curve out. My favorite was the 200 series with flattened five spokes:

Re: Use weld through primier on my floor boards?

As to weld through being said it can not be welded through that is nonsense. Weld through primer is designed to be used in the collision repair industry as a way to protect new parts from corrosion...

Re: Use weld through primier on my floor boards?

All primer is a primer not a paint. It is not water proof and the metal will rust. It is better than nothing though as it is rich in zinc so it will help a little. Best to seal the parts you want to...
