In my 71 i have basically a 5.7 TBI motor with a cam, carb, intake and exhaust. i kept the swirl port heads because they make great low end torque!

im running a holley 600 VS and it seems good....

im running a saginaw 3 speed (dont know the RPO) in my 71 with a high torque 355 with a hurst mastershift 3 speed shifter and iv never missed a 1 - 2 shift and i try to shift faster then a auto trans...

to get my intake valve close ABDC degree and plugged that number into the dynamic calc

i got 61* and now i got 9.38 dynamic...

i balanced the tires at school, i think ill get them road force balanced and my friend says he has two drums that dont vibrate all the way up to 120mph, so i think i will give them a try.

My motor isnt on the razors edge, its a VERY mild 355 193 "swirl port heads", 9.6:1, comp xe256 cam, its built to be reliable and make the low end grunt you want on the street.

Next was to pull the old housing out of the car and i decided to reuse the 3.08 gears with the posi since it gets driven on the freeway a lot and i have no overdrive....

Since i did a major project the past 2 years i did a smaller one this year, I will put a posi in along with some multi leaf springs and bushings.

I ordered a yukon master rebuild kit from randys...
