Repro gas tanks any good?

I don't want to tell you what I did with the 64 SS that I had. :( But I just found that I still had the gas tank from it.

Now, I see that repro gas tanks go for only $100.00 on ebay, should I just toss this one in the trash or does it have some value to someone?

It is solid as a rock but has two dents in the rear about the size of golf balls.

Brian it is hard to say what the value you might be to someone. We know there are some that won't use anything that has not been manufactured by GM, so to them it might be a great buy. Try running ads here, the Chevelle site, Craigs List and over at Steve's. If it doesn't sell you are only out a little time and typing :)

Yeah, good points. I know I do everything I can to use OEM. But geeeez with the repro parts that are available that are so cheap, most don't go thru the trouble.

But you know what, I have found that the time spent on hunting down and a little repairing of OEM parts STILL is better than trying to make repro parts fit and look presentable.

Brian,
I heard that the ones made in Canada are the only ones to get. I got one for my Wife's 84 Riviera and it fit perfectly and seems to be very well made. I might need one for the Chevelle, but I haven't gotten to that point yet.
