The problem is it depends on what brand speakers you buy. If you go with the Wal-mart cheepies for your template then step up to some nice Alpines you might have fitment issues. I can provide you a template hand drawn if you want.

i'll be using Pioneer's... i used to have the template for 6x9's and other sizes but i guess through the years they've up & walked off

i thank ya but i'd rather not have something hand drawn, most speaker companies provide a template with the speakers, i was hoping someone saved theirs and could post it.

thanks though

Well I wasn't going to use a crayon and draw it I was gonna use a premade 6x9 box I have. I'll check the garage and see if I have any of the templates laying around.

Howdy Johnny,

This method has always worked for me. I just drew up this 6x9 elipse in Photoshop. Now, print this off and cut it out, then test to see how it fits on the speaker. If you are satisfied, cut the decklid. If not, keep lookin! Good Luck!

I was looking for a template for 6x9s and Google brought me here today. I did find one I used and it worked well. Here it is: http://www.vibeaudio.co.uk/support/m...x9mounting.pdf
Good luck DIYers.
