A Chevy II is the model a Nova is a package on the Chevy II All Novas are Chevy ii not all Chevy II are Novas, The 100 series sedans (both two four door and wagons) are Chevy II's, 400 series sport coop is a Nova, along with the 400 series four door sedans and wagon's. Make sense???

Yes and they are the same, only changed because of what the marketing department though the public wanted.

Chevy offered several levels of trim to meet the anticipated desires of the buying public from a bare bones stripped econo model to the fully optioned Nova. That way the meter reader could drive to work in his Chevy II 300 model and hop into a model 100 Chevy II four cylinder powered metal box with no A/C, heater, or radio to work all day; and his boss ride around in his V-8 powered Nova model of the same car checking up on him in air conditioned comfort listening to his newly offered FM radio in HiFi.
