Default 76 Wheels-tires

I want to run the same tires all the way around .I really want 16" rims.I have taken all the measurements and I think this tire rim combo should fit .16X8 American Racing 505 Wheels with 4" backspacing and Kumho 245-50-16 Tires .These tires are 25.7" tall.Do you think these will fit ?Thanks

8" wide wheels with only 4" of backspace will be tight on the rear. Those tires are really short. What gears are you running in the rear? Post a photo when you get them on so we can see what it looks like.

I am running 245- 60-14 right now in the rear with a 3.90 rear gear. The rims now are Cragar SS and have a 3'' back-space.They rub on the inner fender without air-shocks.Would a 4.5" B.S.be better?

Depends on the width of that 14" wheel. If it is 6" with 3" back spacing then it is ~3" in front of the hub. An 8" wheel with 4" of backspace is ~4" on the front side. So if you are real close to the inside edge of the fender right now you may have some problems getting the wheel you selected under the car. On my 77 an 8" rally with 4" back spacing and a 255/60R15 will rub. On a 7" Rally with 4.25" back space fits perfect.

The wheel on now is a 14X8 with 3" B.S. .So I have 5" towards the fender .1-1.5" more backspacing looks like it would be just about right.Once I go with bigger wheels it also looks like I have more room in the back because it moves it further away from the shock mount.Am I on to something?I will take a picture so you can check it out. Thanks for your help Philip.
