OK, I pulled an 010 block 2 bolt main out of my 71. Codes indicated it's out of a 70 Camaro. I have it at the machine shop, needs a crank and rods resized so I'm putting a scat rotating assembly in it. I was going to put it back in the Nova but have another project in mind and need the motor for it.
Big Al's warranty is an insurance policy. Read the fine print as the big print giveth and the small print taketh away! That is what separates a GMPP warranty from the rest of the "warranties" offered by the rest of the engine builders. With a GMPP crate motor if it dies or has a problem you drive (or have it towed) into your local GM dealer and they fix it, on the spot, for free.
With Big Al's "warranty" you pay up front cash out of your pocket to fix it first, and then you try and get reimbursed by the insurance company. Note I said try, as they will offer a thousand reasons to weasel out of paying with first on the list being abuse that they get to define.
That is a ground pounding engine. I brings the crowds in everytime GMPP cranks one up on their engine stand at a Super Chevy show. 620 horsepower on pump gas with a full year warranty, and enough torque to twist your car up like a pretzel if the tires ever got a bite.
Big Dave
