for years i wanted one of those for my '64... never did though. i went as far as to compare a new/reproduction unit and checked into having the tach face changed.

try these gauge restoration companies for prices

Wasnt there a nova discussed here that was for sale on ebay here recently. It had the hood mounted tach on it. At least I think there was one. It was said that no novas came with hood mounted tachs. Anyone else remember that. mark

i'm unsure if they're the exact same tach but the Trans-Am had a hood mounted tach... which is what the original thought in the thread presented.

they're available reproduction too: http://www.classicindustries.com/con...roductYearId=0

Duane. There's one on ebay right now that would be perfect for a clone YENKO DEUCE hood tachometer and it's an 8 grand tach. It's only at $150.00 now with 2 days left on the auction. Just type in hood tachometer or item # 160374727605. Prepare to go as high as $500.00. The Yenko didn't have any of the yellow or red in there gauge like the pontiacs had and it is also a taller tack. Just plane jane numbers and slash marks. Another place that sells them HMM, i cant remember their name but their phone # is 1-800-228-7346 part#C8AZ-17A326B @ $299.95.. Nick

that sure resembles a Ford part number... the C8 would be an indicator that the part is for a '68

are ya sure of this ?

i don't think this would be the correct part... even as an attempt at a clone...

Have you ever seen a real Dixco Yenko hood tach. This one and the one that looks to be a Ford part looks alot like the original Dixco Yenco tach than any other i have seen. The Pontiacs dont come close. Besides if you read the ad on the one in the pic/ebay it is just a Ford sticker. Get someone with a steady hand and put a Yenko emblem on it and it would be a great clone. If i were (and you all know that i've thought about it) were to put a clone Yenko tach on my hood i would purchase the one in the picture and just use 3M dbl side moulding tape so i would have to cut a hole in a perfectly good hood. It would just be for show anyway. It's a B trying to see that baby on the hood when your bangin gears. Been there. I do have a picture of one that i'm looking at right now of a true original Yenko Deuce tach. JMHO

I'm looking for that magazine with the C8 (late C8) 69 tachometer for a stang. It was a repro anyway but just like most things nowdays...

No holes in my hood either will be using the 3M tape and it wont be hooked up.Finding parts up here in Canada takes a little longer. Thanks again for the help.
