Just getting back into the hobby.I've bought a 1968 chevy II grocery getter.Very nice shape.I'm currently detailing the undercarrage before dropping in the new drivetrain.Would anyone know the best way to remove the factory undercoating with the least amount of mess?

I have read where guys have used oven cleaner with good results.

Oven cleaner is for the gunk buildup removal. You probably can use it first to get all the sludge off of it but to get the actual undercoating off, about the best way is gonna be a torch, a putty knife, and a lotta patience ;)

you can try laquer thinner, that`s what i use at work but the undercoat is freshly sprayed,so it may not work.
