:waving: Hey Guys, I am new here and have a question about backspacing. Can I install a 15x8 wheel with a 5" backspace on the rear of a '66 Nova without any modifications? Thanks George

Some fit some don't; clothing stores have changing rooms, a better tire and wheel shop that caters to the hod rod industry will have a wheel gauge (a mechanical gig that approximates any wheel size made with two or three arms that are adjustable to mount the desired tire). If you want to buy one they are about $500 (cheaper that a set of wheels if you guess wrong) or you might print it out and flash it in front of your favorite tire vendor so he can save some money. http://www.autowaretech4.net/mountmate.html Big Dave Bogus/ClonerL79 Oct 2nd, 06, 01:20 PM I have 15x7's with 5 in BS & 245/60 BFG's........ they rub on the drivers mono leaf!!! 15x8 is kinda pushin it, but depends on the tire size you go with!! Bogie Tim Schuetz Oct 3rd, 06, 10:43 PM I have 15x8's with 4.5" backspace with 235-60-15 and while it is tight, there is no rub.
