On my local craigslist there is a 1972 Nova ss with the skyroof. It is numbers matching L48 4-speed car(I have checked) I'm not sure what color it is in nova terms but I call it beer bottle brown. It has deluxe black interior with the console. It is for sale by the original owner and still has the original plates. Last licened in 1982. It seems that the windshild is tinted and the others are not. Was it replaced ? The Bad: needs quarters What do you think it is worth?

A Skyroof increases the value of the car 15% over the value of the same car without out it. The good news is that unlike the SS option that requires documentation to claim your 50% premium in price, the Skyroof is it's own proof.

i think it'd be best to supply the Craigslist link... if it's your car then it shouldn't be posted in the "What's it worth" forum. you either sell it for what you're asking or research the supply/demand prices and go from there.

if you're thinking of buying it then there's no harm in posting the link.

so, that being said... post the link ;)

Does it run? If so I would think 4k isn’t a bad asking price...however as a buyer some things I see for you to check out.
1. Appears there has been a fair amount of water in the cab of that car, where is it coming from? skyroof? Rusted top under that vinyl roof?
2. with #1 comes flooring issues how solid are they?
3. I only see the pass quarter but it doesn’t look like it is in good shape.
4. with #3 how is the trunk?
5. Appears to be a good amount of body work to be done.
6. Check the body mount areas for damage (those aren’t so easy to repair).

I know that all of the above are fixable...but it is $$$ so take that into account when you look this car over. Also pay attention to the seller when he is giving you the run down on "this doesn’t work but that’s an easy fix" most things at are "easy" fixes would have been repaired prior to the sale so they wouldn’t have to be explained on how easy they are to fix....
Cool car especially if it runs and can be a drivable project. I have definitely seen worse.

It runs but has a leaky head gasket. That is why the owner parked it. It has been siting ever since. Its got only 17,000 miles on it. I checked the floors and those look good, The trunk though need to be replaced. the top it in great shape and slides nice. the passager quarter is alright but the drivers is hammred.

Well with that info I would say that is a good project! My comment on the pass quarter comes from the photo, it looks like the rear part of the wheel housing is starting to rot. That is a problem area of course and normally has some trunk drop off issues associated with it.

Not a bad looking project, the rarity of the skyroof makes it a Unique one too... a few parts cars I saw with this option were requesting a 1500 premium and not near that condition.

with that said, it also comes down to how much work your willing to put into a project and or how much $$$ tward it. there are a few cleaner projects like http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/1139618166.html http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/cto/1144006553.html

and welcome to the most addicting car that it should be illegalized.. the 3rd gen novas :D
