This site (http://www.novaresource.org/cowltags.htm)will answer most of your questions on decoding.

Scott has put together a real nice info site for Nova owners.

An SS, thats  always nice to find out you had more than you first thought. Keep us posted on the progress and ask all the questions you need to, the only bad questions are the ones you don't ask.

remove the driver's fender. there's a weatherstrip/seal thats for the fender/firewall... you'll find the VIN there ;)

here's an example on a '66

it's probably only a partial VIN.

what is it you're trying to confirm ? the car itself ?

Are you wanting parts or buy a car with a vin and title to transfer to another car?

yes that would work or i have a lot of good parts to transfer to that car

it's against the law to transfer a VIN tag to a different car. if you have a car that has no VIN the DMV, Highway Patrol or whatever governing body in your state can revin the car.

any referencing to revining a car, locating a VIN etc etc etc and the thread will be locked and/or deleted ;)

The second option is the only one allowed to be discussed here.

the above posted image is from a '66, it's the hidden number... the tag is right where you're stating ;)
