Because of trouble getting a quality windshield installed in my truck I decided to do some research on the good ol web. What I found was that LOF, Libby Owens Ford, which was the original manufacture for GM in the 60's & 70s has been bought out by Pilkington. According to their website they are manufacturing glass for the GM classic cars with the original type LOF sandbalsted logo and correct date coding. Here is a link (http://www.pilkington.com/the+americas/usa/english/automotive/agr/pilkington+classics/default1.htm) to the site.
The glass company finally agreed to to install either PPG or the Pilkington brand in my truck. So I had the Pilkington installed Friday so I can judge the quality of the product.

I am not sure of the pricing. The cost for the truck was covered by insurance. The 800# on their website may get you a price for a specific vehicle and I would imagine the date code would be optional. The glass installed in the truck fits well and the wiper blades contact the entire surface, unlike the first one they installed (FY logo in the brand).
