i would love to make my own overflow container but i see that most are make of aluminum and i can only weld steel as of now, are most aluminum because of the rusting factor or because it looks better?

weight, rust, looks, braggin' rights.

Whichever you prefer :-)

The first two being more prominent. Frankly, plastic does fine, if it's ABS extruded or blow-molded.

Heck, I am sure many of us in the past have used soda/beer cans and bottles, empty antifreeze bottles.....etc :yes::yes:.

Other than that CADOR is correct.

until i decided to use the Bud can i found an old fire extinguisher in my shop... i unscrewed the top (it was old, no pressure inside) and dumped out the powder, washed it out real good, wire wheeled it to clean off all the red paint and then was about to drill & tap the top for the tube fittings etc to connect it when i decided it wasn't going to have the look i was after and abandoned the project.

i still have the bottle if you'd like pics, maybe it'd be something you'd like to try

let me know if i can help,

JR
