I have been very curious lately what my nova might go for? there are a few pictures on my profile of it pretty recently. The engine is a L6 250, with a powerglide. Clifford intake, headers, holley 390 carb. Just had a new exhaust put in for $800 dollars flowmaster muffler whole thing custom bent. (the exhaust in the picture is my old one). this car is in oregon now but came from cali, and all the rust has been taken care of. The interior has all new seat covers which look awesome. Other then the clifford intake, headers, tac and what not this car is all either stock or built back to it at this point. Matching numbers engine also.

I am thinking about selling my car not because i want to get out of the car world of even the nova but i have recently had the need for a more reliable car, and one that gets better gas milage. Also i would be getting a new nova if i sold my car. I have taken this one more back towards stock, i want to get a car that i can totally gut and give a newschool look on the interior along with a more pro strett aproach. I know you can only say so much from pictures but just ballpark guesses would help me out alot.

There is a good chance i may still not sell it.

Looking at your pics, I'd keep it, it'd be hard to find another one with a body as good as yours for a "fair" price.

i've read threads recently stating you're having issues with a few things... well the car isn't worth as much with issues versus without issues...

so, you'd like a value placed on it anyways ?

think about it ;)

i am saying assuming sometime i fix everything this melinuim :D, really everything seems to be a small fix just my small mechanical brain keeps making them into a big one. They need to have free rental Johny's that i can stop by autozone and borrow to fix my car once i screw it up!

well, one thing to remember is that bottom line is "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" so to speak and it's going to be ultimately up to the prospective buyer as far as "what's it worth"

if you bought it for "X" amount and have upgraded this & that and have receipts for everything then that's something in your favor to show that prospective buyer.

in all honesty, don't get too wrapped up in "what's it worth" if it's not for sale... if it is up for sale then figure out what ya have in it, condition, desireability etc and do three things... put a price on it, advertise it & sell it ;)

not much of a reply... sorry ;) it's hard to put a value on something owned by someone else... you probably value it much more than i do... so is it worth what you think or what i think ? get my meaning ?

good luck to ya,

JR (i'll say $5500.00) fixed & running properly ;)

that is fair anything ballpark and i totally agree. Smartly i have kept all my big reciepts. when i cruise down to auto zone and spend 10 bucks on nuts and bolts and this and that i don't keep it. I know those 10 bucks add up how much i'm there BUTTTTTT, as i buyed i don't care to see 100 reciepts for what odds and ends you needed. I wont sell my car ever i don't think. I was thinking i have taken it to stock so far but realllyyyy. Other than the seats i havent. I am sure i could sell the seats off to someone and put in a nice new set of new school buckets to get that pro street look going. Johnny.... you make a mans heart for his nova always grow bigger

Ok I don't get it you want a more reliable car but your going to buy another nova so you can "gut" it:confused: (maybe you should take your car into a shop and let them make it more reliable)

You want better gas milage, why would another nova get better milage:confused:

From the pics I see the car looks real nice and maybe installing headers, intake, & a carb might have caused your unreliable issue and now your thinking of selling it...

I would take it to a shop. Older cars are not that hard to work on and a good shop should get it up and running.

as far as what its worth I would think 4,000 ish maybe. I would have to see it and if it has any kind of rust it goes down from there.;)

well i would buy a newer car for my daily driver then have a true project car. The car has zero rust left had a little on the floor boards light surface rust that i sanded out and same in the trunk and then sprayed out. That was it. I am thinking you maybe very right all the car really requires right now is the carb tunned and any header and vacume leaks found and fixed. I would just hate to send it in and get stuck with a 1000 bill for it ya know?
