Ok this is what i have learned from all you guy on the fourum and thanks a bunch for the info this is a well optioned nova ss

engin block is numbers matching with the engine block having stamped CJD at the end meaning 270hp the engine is 100% original ,not one peice has ever been taken off ,

270HP 350
Black Bucket seats
Console with guages
Automatic
Tach dash
12 Bolt Posi (not sure of ratio)

P/S
Disc Brakes
S/S hood

SS trim package
Silver in color
Reverb Radio

canot find build sheet BUT im the 3rd owner and the guy who ordered it new and the 2nd owner lives 15 miles from me!!!!!!! cowl tag supports the color and interior engine has the vin . so what do you guys honestly figure its worth, the floors and trunk are like new as well as all the other sheet metal, exept the quarters the lowers will need replaced (the original owner put mud flaps on it ) the car runs good but will need a good restoration i am missing nouthin for the car !!!!! if its a high dollar nova i will keeep it for my self was going to give it to my boy, but maybe a lesser nova would be better for a first car

Nevada Silver should make it a slightly rarer color. Not seen to many original silver Novas. I dont have a guess on what the value is. Since Muscle cars prices are going up, you may want to hold onto it for a while. Especially after you finish the restoration on it. If it is a true SS, and it seems that it could be, you could end up with a car with an excellent restoration in the 15K-25K or better range.

So the question is, do you want the car more than you want to give it to your son :D

Since the original owner is down the road. Where did he buy the car from? The dealer if still in business may have records on it. Doubt it, but worth a shot. Plus if the origional owner willing to do a statement stating he bought it as a SS car brand new from the lot, it may carry some weight.

I think you can probably find a plain 68-72 Nova for around 4K in decent shape, that both of you would enjoy working on together. If it were me, thats the route I would go, and keep your SS Nova for a while and enjoy driving it.

and, just for a thought to kick around in your head... if the car isn't that #1 grade and you'd like to see it worth it's maximum... what do you seriously think it's going to cost to restore it to get that value ?

one thing also to consider, we're sitting here putting ideas in your head on a car's worth sight-unseen. we have no images to look at which aren't as good as seeing in person so regardless of what we may say it's worth... bottom line it'll be what it's worth to the prospective buyer.

just a couple pennies thoughts to consider ;)

Post some photos when you can...and don't be in a hurry to take it apart and start fixing things. By the way, where abouts in Nebraska...one of our Novas came from Alliance, Nebraska......sounds like a cool car.
