Greetings!
I posted an ad on this site for my Nova (1974 Chevy Nova Custom), and I honestly have no idea what I should be asking for it. I am not trying to draw attention to my ad; I am also advertising it in Philly, where I live, which is probably where I am most likely to find a buyer.
If anyone here could give me a word of advice on what my car is worth in its present condition, I would truly appreciate it!!!
My Nova is not running, and a friend (not a real mechanic) told me that I probably need a new engine, because some blue goop is leaking into the oil. I surmise that this blue stuff is anti-freeze, so this must be a major problem.
When I was having my other vehicle inspected, I told the mechanic about my Nova problem, and he offered to put a new engine in the Nova for $2,500. It is the engine from a Dodge Ram truck. Is this good? Do you guys think I should have this done before offering it for sale? My father mentioned that someone into Novas might rather buy the car for a lower price and install another engine him/herself.
I don't know what to do. I am moving in the spring, and the car must go. It is a fine car, with zero "bondo", and just about everything mechanical is new (I have all receipts for parts and work done).
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for any advice offered. This was the first real car I ever owned, and I have been keeping it in my garage for 15 years. It has been off the road for a year, but when I used to drive it around, everyone who saw it used to either yell and scream about how cool it was, or try to race me!
Hell. Maybe I'll try to keep it. I'm moving to Southeast Asia, but my brother has a garage here where I could store it to drive around on visits!
Thank you, and I hope I didn't ramble on too much.
