poorman72 Dec 28th, 08, 08:50 AM Thats a really nice car. Did you do the work? I love the color. Do you have any pictures during construction? What cubic inch is your engine? What trans? What rear gear? What front and rear suspention? Tell us more.
Scott4680 Dec 28th, 08, 08:54 AM great looking car..
Big Dave Dec 28th, 08, 09:09 AM Only problem I see is it would be illegal to drive in Florida. Law specifies a driver's side rear view mirror. Looks great though!

Thanks Guys and Yes a friend and i built it! It started out as a 72 Heavy Chevy, 350 car
It has had every peice of it touched and replaced lol,
The theme was to smooth the car in areas to really clean up the lines of it! Starting with All the handles and locks replaced with Dakota digital electronics, smoothed marker lights the firewall the cowl panel and the complete sub frame and the rear end sprngs etc, also the triangles under the hood and trunk has Hotskis suspension motors a 383 stock heads gone through 350 turbo with a 2,500 stahl with a factory 10 bolt with 3.73 gears Billet specialties wheels 17" with Nitto rubber have showed the car on and off over the past 5-6 years competed in isca indoor and major out door shows super chevy etc and have done quite well! Drive the car a little more now really enjoy it, but yes it would be pusshing the laws alittle in some states lol, also no wipers and side mirrors!

A man that knows what hes speaks of! Thats a funny?
I actually was cringing bolting them on saying to myself theseare going to rub the wheel wells so i called the guys at ring bros. they are great to work with by the way! and he said let me make a call and he called troy up and he said he didnt have any issuses with theres on there notourious build butlet me tell you there close, He did mention they have had some clearance problems and some have had to dimple there fender wells but i havent bolted on hood yet, but so far they seem to be wanting to clear and i mean barelyyyy. " I'll keep you updated,! Thanks
Smooth 72 Apr 10th, 09, 05:12 PM And yes the motor in my 48 i was a lil ocd on lol
I have always wanted to smooth a block and though what better time it actually turned out smoother then the novas, heres a few pics of the short block and still waiting on my heads to button up the top end yet!
Also i fabbed up my alternator bracket down low on the right side of the motor and mounted it to the frame im running solid motor mounts and it clears the race pump man pump im running aswell because the lines come off the top of the pump not the front power steering pump low on driver side just wanted to keep everything really uncluttered and clean looking. also just received my sasche billet hinges for the 48 yesterday aswell they need polished yet but are really light and should work pretty well!

SHIFTY4 Apr 10th, 09, 05:17 PM that's REAL scary to me... not yours but another car i recently saw... a guy had a frame mounted alt bracket with std rubber mounts !!!
i tried to ask him what happens to the belt as the engine torques but he said that the mounts were new and didn't allow for torque
yeah, but what about when they wear in/out ?
i gave up and walked away
Smooth 72 Apr 10th, 09, 06:22 PM Thats funny and crazy and not to mention will not work if its not on solid mounts it willllll not work. ecs in an engine like this torque monster! lol
