My antifreeze freezed:eek:

Well, its more like slush. Was going to take out my radiator before replaced the suspension cause shes leaky. I can't get my detached apartment garage very warm (5 degrees here). Since the coolant is frozen in the radiator I assume anything in the block is frozen. What should I do to get it out?
Thanks in advance
Alex

it's going to be c-c-c-cold layin' on the ground but there should be a 1/4" NPT plug on either side of a sbc block, center, lower area of the block just above pan rail. you could remove those plugs to drain all water/coolant.

you could also try a simpler way... take a flood light or whatever wattage light and clamp it somewhere under the hood, close the engine and let the light buld heat the engine. it'll take a while but it can be warmed up enough to melt the slush.

That and a coffee warmer stuck in the slush would help things as well. Just keep in mind that the antifreeze is poisonous.

Make sure you check all the freeze plugs .They are designed to pop out when the block has no coolant, only water.
