The 63 nova I bought has had a late seventies (I think) monte carlo front subframe installed in it welding looks a little scary but I guess it worked at one time atleast. Does anyone have any thoughts on this, My thoguhts are I can clean it up reweld and brace it to make sure its safe but is there something I should know before I invest a ton of time. Right now my plan is to make this a modest 327 V8 driver so I have no plans to buy a $1500+ replacement sub frame but wanted to get some others thoughts on it.

As long as it is safe and working I see no problems. Is it an actual subframe that extends under the floor from a later unibody or the front portion of a late 70's A body that is cut off the rest of the frame? Got a photo?

I have to get it hauled home but I will get some pics posted to get some more feedback from others. It looks like they had cut the new subframe enough to weld it up to where the old one bolted up.
