my outer tie rod keeps hittin the idle arm...what the hell can i do to stop it 1964 chevy nova 2

Have you got any pictures? Is this a car you just bought, or did you or someone else just replace some parts?
The curved tie rod is the outer, and the straight one is the inner. I've heard of people reversing them.
