I just mounted one of them on a 15x7 ralley with 4 and 1/4" backspace. It looks like it will clear. Tire fills the wheel well nice. I will order the Cragars for it tomorrow, now that I know they will work. Villain281H May 9th, 06, 06:30 PM I use a 275/60/15 on an 8 inch rim, and it fits fine without any clearance issues. Also use a 28 x 10.5 slick for the track, but that required a "little" beating as well as rolling the outer lip. The 255/70 should be about 8.7 wide tread by 29" high, so it should fit the opening very well. Derek TDWZ28 May 9th, 06, 07:37 PM Thanks for the responses. Well Crap, I bought the 15x7 with 4 and 1/4" backspace. Had the tires mounted and balanced. Put them on the car. They look good, but there is a very slight rub on the inner fender when I launch it. I measured and measured before I went this route. Mabey I need some more schoolin. johnsnova May 21st, 06, 08:27 PM I think the 4.5 back spacing on a 15 x 7 would be perfect. You can never tell though as the axle isn't always centered in the wheelhouse. 71Nova400 May 23rd, 06, 04:32 AM I run 255/60/15 on 15x7's with 4.5 backspacing on the rear of my 71 Nova. They fit perfectly, but the passenger side slightly rubs going over a steep bump. This is only because my rear is a little off center. |
