Hi Guys - way back in 1973 my cousin purchased a brand new Nova SS hatchback. Well, i was out at my Aunts house last weekend and i found the car in a barn. It has been sitting there since 1991. Still all original and only has 61,166.3 miles + every piece paperwork you can think of. The body is perfect and I bet the paint would buff out fine. However, there's a lot of surface rust in the engine bay but nothing real terrible. The floor pans and body are great (Calif car all its life).

My BIG question, what is this worth?? I want to approach my cousin and make an offer but don't want to insult him either. I found this Nova site from the Camaro forum as I'm working on a 67 with my older son. I'm thinking of picking this one up for my younger son and have another father-son project. I'd prefer to have a pre 1973 but it is 100% original and that has me interested. Here are a few pics. Whaddya think? Is there a build sheet for Nova's - if yes where is it located?

Thanks,
Geano

Its only worht what you are willing to pay for it. think of a number in your head and knock 25% off that and make the offer.

build sheets are (or aren't found) due to the fact they're intended for the line assemblers and are generally trashed... but sometimes due to laziness they get "stuck" somewhere in the car. they've been known to be found inbetween the inner/outer fenders, under the rear seat, under the gas tank. anywhere one can be stashed...

i'd ask him what he thinks it's worth and go from there... ya never know, your price may be way higher than what he'd consider...

go have lunch, a beer (whatever) and talk it over ;)

Oh I likes the barn finds!! Looks very respectible. Get him drunk first!!! Maybe he will say take her away as you plan to build it as a father-son project, sure he would like to see his nephew in his old car pickin up chicks!!

Good luck and nice find!!

Cheers Chevyboy454.

It is family just sit down and have a talk with him. Maybe he can suggest a price and negotations if any needed can start from there. It is even a hatchback. I had a chance to buy one just like it, same color, interior only difference was the one I passed on was a4 speed. that was 20 years ago and I should have bought it.
