View Full Version : 1969 L78?
skyman51 Oct 5th, 08, 09:06 AM Hi to all. My name is Rob and I am a newbie. I have been a Camaro and Chevelle owner but never a Nova. Looking at a all black 69 L78 with 34000 original miles, build sheet and POP, and title history from new. The car is an original drivetrain L78. It is radio delete, becnh seat, TH400 on the column,3.55 rear. Body panels and glass are original and body is laser straight. Car is a #1 trailer queen.
What is it worth. I know what I would pay for a like Chevelle or Camaro but have no clue on a Nova's value. Thanks:D
SHIFTY4 Oct 5th, 08, 11:11 AM welcome to Team Nova Rob... would ya possibly have some pics ta post ?
i'm not an authority on L78's so i'll not venture an estimate on its value... i'm sure someone more knowledgeable than i will be along though ta help ya out ;)

Unfortuantely I do not have any pics. The car was a Fall Carlisle this weekend at the auction but did not sell. It was there last year when the current owner bought it,took it home to Conn. and parked it. He is selling because he has a new ZR1 Corvette coming and has no room! The care, save for the chrome, lookw like and Amish car. Everything is black. It has standard steel wheels with dog dish hubcaps and red line tires. Interior is completely original and looks as new. Does not look like much, but turn the key and it sounds better then my Chevelle LS6!:( It's the Real Deal.

Thanks, I got in touch and he said 70-95K depending. That is good enough for me,this car has it all, GM docs, owner history and a #1 correct restoration with the original motor, trans, and rear.
Lt1mike Oct 14th, 08, 11:06 AM Hate to burst the bubble but 75K to 90K is a real stretch in this economy. Maybe half those amounts given the current economic conditions. Good luck.

I agree with you,but nothing near that was the purchase price and the car is a keeper, was not bought to sell and it is a hoot to drive!:D
xplantdad Oct 26th, 08, 10:32 PM SO I take it that you bought it?
If so...congrats...the L78 Novas are so cool...:hurray:
skyman51 Nov 7th, 08, 06:10 PM This car is going to be a Vette Fest in a couple of weeks. They want it as part of the displaay and it will be judged. The more we find out about this car the more spectracular it is. It is a real original 34000 mile radio delte L78. It also has a very rare GM dealer installed induction system which several Nova experts have told me they had only seen pictures of. So to say my friend who bought the car and I are very excited is an understatemnet. We hope the car gets the Gold Spinner.:hurray:
musclegaragetv.com Nov 8th, 08, 11:04 PM I sold a 1970 L78 Last year all numbers documented, complete frame off resto., bench seat, auto on column, it only brought 34k, I may have sold it a little short but I think the 75k-90k is a real stretch.
