i recently had a '67 date coded Z/28 intake that i watched the auctions for to get idea of worth, high was in/around what that one was... low was at/around 250. it's all in the condition/prettyness of the unit... and supply/demand at the time of auction...

My brother has a 66 V8 SS nova. He told me that this intake would be right for that car. But looking at casting numbers this intake was for 64 and 65 car? Right?? What would be the correct casting for a L79 nova?

i believe this would be what you'd be looking for... but if the car isn't an actual L79 it'd be a lot of cash for something that isn't... if ya get my meaning. the L79 is much more than just an intake. it's the whole car, from VIN number to engine, trans & differential.

as far as intakes go there's better flowing units on the market these days. if it's JUST the part number that's needed for that 100% restoration, well then, that's a whole different subject matter ;)

Got ya. I will post intake for sale for 65 car some where else. I know little about nova's but i remember him telling me something about V8 car with manual trans SS and something about blue color. I think the decoding with a nova was vauge or something. Camaro's were more exact.

The 461 was used on the 65 350 and 265. The 66 and 67 L79 used a different numbered intake. I resurrected this thread just to post the mortec site and show the difference in the numbered intakes. Not sure how far back the 461 was used but without looking I know 64 used it and I'm pretty sure 63 and maybe 62 did as well. I can use it on my L79 whose intake is a little weathered if the price is right. If selling then check with me at anotherstupidid@hotmail.com. I'm selling my 65 L79 motor which came out of a running Corvette.
