In the mornings when I start my engine. when the car is either put in neutral or park, the engine will rev up quite a bit. This morning, no matter what gear I had the car in, it rev'd up and even with full break, managed to push itself down the street, spinning my tires. I have not tweaked or done anything to the engine yet, aside from flushing the radiator and changing the oil. Both which seemed waaaayyyy overdue.
Thanks for the help

Thats what it sounds like, even with your foot on the brake?

Check your retaining spring on your throttle assembly. It's the spring that hooks to your ignition coil strap and the throttle body lever. Sounds like a likely culprit. Check your idle stop solenoid as well. Maybe it's not engaging?

The spring seemed to be the problem. I adjusted the fuel mix screws ( two of the, on each side which adjust how rich it is) and put a heavier spring on it. The old spring really had no power to it. It apprears that the throttle line pinches on a bracket that it sits in before it hits my carb. I adjusted that so hopefully there is less drag. But now she seems to be running great. Thanks for the help!
