Prior to the camaro did GM "sponsor" any road racing (trans am style) in the early 60's? Perhaps using a second gen nova?:confused:

Prior to the Camaro there was no Trans Am. It was an event created to give the new Pony (as in Mustangs that came out in 1964) cars a place to play with out the European imports kicking sand in their face when they tried to compete internationally in the bigger races like CanAm, and the road races at Sebring, Watkins's Glen, and a race called the Grand Prix (in one of them thar foreign countries).
