Hey NovaGuys & NovaChicks...
i took apart my '64 heater switch today... felt a little nasty when trying to change selections and i didn't trust it... so i thought i'd see what's inside. maybe clean it up a little.
as you can see the switch has the control cable passing through it, you'll need to be careful not to break the metal tabs... bend them up to take switch apart

here's another shot of the tabs bent up

here's what's inside the switch... a plastic limiter (so the switch won't turn continuously in a circle, a spring and a copper disc...

another shot of the disassembled switch and contacts, i don't know if you can see the terminal button contacts, but they're gummed up and dirty.
