I own a 4door, and IMO it will be one of the nicest around. But IMO that one is lacking in the "attention to detail" area.

Just one question, why minitub a car (2 or 4 door) and leave the stock 6cyl in it?

Loose the red wheels and flat black they just don't fit with the stock everything else.

Like I said, just my opinion, the work done was done well. But as a Rat Rod (so called, since painting black don't make no R.R.) the job is half arsed.:boring:

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with a 4door. BUT... they do have their place.

IMO, building a 4door for the lack of finding a good solid 2door is NOT the place.

I have a 2door sedan and a 4door sedan, both are getting done (eventually), the 4door is a priority now so the Hotrod will wait.

Notice I said the "hotrod" in referance to my 2door. A 4door was not meant to be a hotrod. And mine is going to be a TRUE grocery getter!!!:beers:

What does"Image"have to do with the body style one likes?

Image doesn't have anything to do with what one prefers for a body style. It does, however, have everything to do with the fact that there is no tangible argument for the reason why one body style is better than the other. And why some are so adament on pointing out that anyone who happens to have the "other" body style or like it are in some minority that subjectifies them to brow beatings and backhanded comments. I say that from my own personal experience, not just as an onlooker. And I'd like to make it a point to say that not EVERYONE is like that, but there is a vast majority that is. So before someone reads this and thinks I'm singling you out because you have a coupe and are part of this majority, I'M NOT. But if you are one of the majority that finds yourself referring to the "other" body style as having no value based on the "just because" clause, then ya, I'm talking to you. Everyone has their own preference and are entitled to their own preference. I am not trying to say anything about someone's preference or entitlement to that. In the originial part of this thread, Johnny found a car that he found to be preferable to his taste. I, however, didn't find it to be to my taste and kept that to myself based on the fact that he was entitled to that opinion. Furthermore, I'm not implying that by someone else stating their opinion or dislike is wrong. I simply wanted to know what the big deal was? Hoping maybe there would be a reply that was a little more reasonable than the standard "just because". I'm not interested in starting some dual, firing people up, or whatever. I just wanted to know why. And honestly, you can't tell me when your car is down for whatever reason, and you have to temporarily drive something that is less than your liking, it doesn't touch you somewhere deep inside in an ugly way.

Simply put, you asked and got answers, obviously answers that you don't like. Hate to say it, but you might want to try and thicken up the skin a little.

I wasn't baggin I was stating what I thought/think. And I am an owner of a 4door, a 4door which I am very proud of. And if anyone finds offense with my thoughts on 4doors thats just too bad.

As a matter of fact, before I found this gem in the rough, I always thought that 4doors are parts cars.

My issue with the four door nova is,I dont like the look.That does not mean You should not own one,that means I wont own one.

I don't have an issue with 4doors, I've made lots of money off of them.

I just don't believe they are worth putting the $$$'s into like a 2door. If I come across one that needs any sizeable amount of metal work it will get cut up for parts. They shouldn't get minitubbed or roll cages put in, V8 swaps, or anything other then safety and comfort upgrades.

Now a good solid car that is all original and with numbers matching drivetrain would be a shame to part out no matter which body style it is, since these cars are slowly dissappearing. That is why I'm doing up mine. But I'm doing it knowing that I'm going to be driving it all the time. Getting scratches and the possibility of rust and dents or worse.

It will be a very nice car with good gas milage that will end up costing me less then buying something new, and will look nicer and be a good conversation piece.

But in the end, it really is "to each his (or her) own" you need to build what you want, not what we want. Thats all that really matters isn't it?

To each their own, agreed. When I finally get mine up and running again and get the work done that has been neglected over the years, I'll have to post a pic and hopefully I can at least get "thats a good lookin car.... for a 4 door." LOL ;)

a classic is a classic we need to keep them all on the roads, but for 4 doors and that is what i own its hard to buy a car for a low price i got a 65 nova 4 door runs drives all original well it was until i got it now it has no interior, i need seat covers headliner carpet and door panels but anyway i picked my car up for 1200.00
