I'm converting from an automatic column shift to a floor shift and i'm going to purchase a consol down the road. I'm afraid to punch a hole in my new floor without having some measurements. i have the factory sloor shifter, but i don't have the rod. (does anyone know how long the shifter link is or os it a cable). One of the problems is I'm trying to mount all this in before the Motor and Trany go in. If someone has a factory floor shift, could they please give me some detail locations for the hole on the floor and console? Thanks in advance.

If you are using an aftermarket NHRA required reverse lock-out cable shifter for an automatic transmission it can be bolted anywhere as you do not cut a large hole in the floor for the lever. The shifter mechanism bolts to the floor of the vehicle and the cable forms a U passing through a hole in the fire wall (that you will have to cut) to reconnect below the shifter with the transmission.

Rick, the rod is 16" long.It will be adjustable on one end. When adjusted it will be about 15".You will need the Hump that welds into the floor also.
