I have a 72 Nova with a factory a/c unit and would like to remove the piece that mounts on the firewall. I would like to retain use of the heater function of the unit. Has anyone done this and if so what are the problems that you encountered and does any one make a kit or pieces that I should get to make this swap easier. I have a big block in the car and it is almost impossible to get to the back spark plugs on the passengers side with this unit in place, that is what is driving my desire to pull the condenser unit.
Thanks for any help you can give

Do Not break the A/C box. They are not reproduced and the guys over on the Camaro board should pay you top dollar for one in good condition. I believe it is the lower half of the plastic or what ever it is air box that is so highly prized that you can just about name your own price.
